Moving from Questions & Answers (EliteSoft)?
Last updated: 11 October 2026
If you use Questions & Answers by EliteSoft and you are looking at your options, this page tells you what the 31 January 2027 date means, what Quicksloth Q&A for Confluence does the same way today, and what it does not do.
Coming soon to the Atlassian Marketplace. This page will link to the listing as soon as it is live.
Short version: you can run both apps side by side and start new questions in Quicksloth Q&A. There is no automatic migration of your existing questions.
What the 31 January 2027 date is, and what it is not
- It is Atlassian's date, not EliteSoft's. Atlassian ends support for its Connect platform on 31 January 2027 (Atlassian blog, 3 August 2026; developer community announcement, 3 August 2026). Atlassian writes that after that date it "will only address critical security patches", and expects more breakages, some that "cause apps to stop functioning without advance notice". It does not say that every Connect app stops working on that day. Since March 2026, apps built on Connect can no longer receive updates.
- Questions & Answers by EliteSoft is a Connect app. The Atlassian Marketplace's public data for the app shows a Connect app whose latest cloud version is 1.28.9-AC, released 10 December 2024 (see its version history). Its listing does not mention a move to Forge or the end of Connect support (both read on 11 October 2026).
- We do not know EliteSoft's plans and we do not speak for them. If EliteSoft moves its app to Forge, you may not need to move at all. You can ask them through their support portal.
What works the same way
What follows is based on EliteSoft's public listing and documentation (overview), read on 9 October 2026. It may have changed, so check their pages too.
| You may use | Questions & Answers (EliteSoft) | Quicksloth Q&A for Confluence |
|---|---|---|
| Ask a question in a space | "Questions" in the space sidebar, then "Ask a question" | Same flow: Questions in the space sidebar, then Ask a question (title, details, topics) |
| Tags | Tags | Topics, saved as Confluence labels; you can filter by topic |
| Answers and comments | Answers and comments | Answers and comments, each with author and date; comments are standard Confluence comments |
| Voting | Vote up or down on questions and answers | Vote up or down on questions and answers; a second click removes your vote; you can't vote on your own post |
| Accepted answer | The person who asked can accept an answer | The person who asked, or anyone who can edit the question, can accept one answer; it moves to the top, and lists show "Accepted" |
| Search, filter and sort | Search, filter and sort by title, content, tag and space; also searchable from the Confluence search bar (their listing) | Search in titles and in the text of questions and answers (not comments); filter by unanswered or topic; sort by newest, active or most votes; a Space filter on the site-wide page |
| Sharing a question | Questions and answers can be shared (their listing) | Every question has its own Confluence address you can paste into chat or a page |
| Who can see what | Enabled for all spaces or only chosen ones (an admin setting); questions are seen by the users of their space (their listing) | Follows each person's Confluence permissions: people only see questions in spaces they can see |
| Where the data is | Stored in your Confluence site (their listing) | Questions, answers, comments and topics are Confluence content in your site; votes and a search index are in Forge SQL hosted by Atlassian; the app sends no data outside Atlassian |
What is different: please read before you decide
- No automatic migration. Quicksloth Q&A cannot import questions from EliteSoft's app, and it has no export at launch. The documentation pages of EliteSoft's app that we read do not mention an export feature either; ask EliteSoft what you can take out.
- Not in Quicksloth Q&A: notifications to Slack, Google Chat or Microsoft Teams, and a macro that lists questions on a page (EliteSoft's version 1.28.9 added one). Quicksloth Q&A sends no notifications at launch, and in our own test Confluence did not notify a person who was watching a question when someone else answered it.
- @mentions of people: we have not tested them in posts, so we do not list them as a feature.
- Authors, dates and votes do not move. Anything you copy becomes a new post by the person who posts it, with today's date.
- Images in posts are not supported at this time (EliteSoft's documentation describes file upload). Comments can be edited by their author but can't be deleted from the app.
- Search lives on the Questions pages. Confluence's global search bar does not show content created by Forge apps today (Atlassian issue CONFCLOUD-84122).
- English only.
How to move, step by step (by hand)
- Keep EliteSoft's app installed while you try the new one. Before you uninstall anything, ask EliteSoft what happens to its content when the app is removed; we cannot tell you.
- Install Quicksloth Q&A for Confluence from the Atlassian Marketplace and try it. It is free for up to 10 users, and you can try it before you buy.
- Choose what to bring. Old questions can stay where they are, readable in the old app, while new questions go to Quicksloth Q&A. For the few questions your team still needs, copy by hand: post the question with its title, text and topics, then post its answers, the accepted one first. A line such as "Originally asked on 12 March 2025 by Sam" at the top keeps the context.
- Tell your team where questions go now. A pinned Confluence page with a link to the Questions page of the space is enough.
- Uninstall the old app when you no longer need what is in it.
What we plan
We plan to add export and import (CSV or JSON). This is a plan, not a promise, and we have no date. Whether we can import data that comes from EliteSoft's app depends on what that app lets you export.
Is Quicksloth Q&A right for you?
- A good fit if you use questions, answers, votes, accepted answers, topics and search, if starting fresh or copying a few questions is fine, and if you want your data to stay inside Atlassian.
- Probably not yet if your team depends on Slack, Google Chat or Teams notifications or on the question list macro, or if you need to carry hundreds of questions over with their authors, dates and votes. In that case, first ask EliteSoft whether it plans to move its app to Forge.
Price
Billed through Atlassian, in US dollars: free for up to 10 users; 50 users $300 per year or $30 per month; 100 users $600 per year or $60 per month; other user tiers on the Marketplace listing. The annual price equals ten months.
Questions?
Write to support@quicksloth.dev. We aim to send a first reply within 2 business days (Monday to Friday, Italian time, excluding Italian public holidays). If the app does not fit what you need, we will tell you.
