Privacy policy: Quicksloth Sticky Widget
Last updated: 22 October 2026
In short: the plugin has no server of its own and sends nothing anywhere. It stores nothing about visitors, in their browsers or on your server; the site owner's settings stay in the site's own database. Nothing about visitors or sites reaches us.
1. Who we are
Quicksloth Sticky Widget is made by Quicksloth, the brand name of Alfredo Onori, an independent software developer based in Italy ("we", "us"). Contact: support@quicksloth.dev.
Our website and support email are covered by the website privacy notice. The plugin is distributed through the WordPress.org Plugin Directory, which processes data (downloads, update checks, reviews, support forum) under its own privacy policy; we only see the aggregate statistics WordPress.org shows every plugin author (active installations, downloads, versions in use), never individual sites.
2. What the product stores and where
- In the visitor's browser: nothing. The plugin sets no cookies and writes nothing to localStorage or sessionStorage. Its script computes where sticky elements sit while the page is open and keeps nothing between pages or visits.
- In the site's database (managed by the site owner): three WordPress options: the owner's settings (margins, stop elements, custom sticky elements, minimum screen width and height, devices, layer, and a record of whether the settings were imported from Fixed Widget and when), the date the plugin was first activated, and whether the owner dismissed or answered the review request. The activation date is used only to show a single, dismissible review request 14 days later. In addition, a Sticky flag (on or off) is saved in the settings of each classic widget saved while the plugin is active, and a
qsswattribute inside the content of each block where Sticky or Stop here was set (empty if it was later turned off). None of them contains data about visitors. - On our servers: nothing. The plugin makes no request to us or to any third party: no analytics, no fonts from content delivery networks, no update checks of its own (updates come from WordPress.org as for every plugin in the directory).
If Fixed Widget (q2w3) is installed, the plugin reads its settings once, on activation, and reads its ticks and classes when pages are shown. It never changes or deletes them.
3. How we use the data
We do not receive any data from the plugin, so there is nothing we use. The settings above exist only to run the plugin on the owner's site. There is no advertising, tracking, profiling or AI service in the plugin.
4. What reaches us
Only what you send us yourself: support emails and messages in the plugin's support forum on WordPress.org (public, under WordPress.org's terms). We use them to answer you and to fix problems (GDPR Article 6(1)(b) and 6(1)(f)); email is handled as described in the website privacy notice, including transfers outside the EEA.
5. How long data is kept
The site owner's settings stay in the site's database until the plugin is deleted: deleting it from the Plugins screen removes the three options and the Sticky tick from the widgets in use, on every site of a multisite network (deactivating keeps them, so that reactivating restores the settings). The qssw attribute stays in the block content (empty if Sticky was turned off), where it does nothing without the plugin. The data of Fixed Widget is never touched. Support emails are kept as long as described in the website privacy notice.
6. Your rights and requests
Write to support@quicksloth.dev. Under the GDPR you can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data and object to its use. You can complain to a data protection authority; in Italy this is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
7. Changes to this policy
If the plugin starts storing or using data in a different way, we will update this policy before releasing that version and change the date at the top. Such changes will also be listed in the plugin's changelog on WordPress.org.
