Quicksloth Accessibility Toolbar Pro
Last updated: 15 October 2026
A separate add-on for the free Quicksloth Accessibility Toolbar. It adds one-click profiles, read aloud with the visitor's own voices, a text magnifier, an accessibility statement page, display rules and multisite defaults. Like the free plugin, it needs no account and sends nothing from your visitors' browsers to anyone.
Coming soon. The Pro is not on sale yet, and nothing on this page can be bought today. The free plugin is complete on its own: nothing in it is locked, and it stays that way.
An accessibility toolbar helps some visitors; it does not make a website conform to WCAG or to the law. Fix your content and code first.
What the Pro adds
Profiles
A "Profiles" section at the top of the panel. One click turns on a set of the toolbar's own tools; visitors can still change each tool afterwards. The names say who the set is meant for; they do not promise a result.
- Low vision: larger text, more line height, a readable font, high contrast, a big cursor and a visible focus outline.
- Motion sensitivity: stopped animations, muted media and lower saturation.
- Focus (ADHD): a reading mask, stopped animations and lower saturation.
- Cognitive and learning: a readable font, more line height, highlighted links and headings, and a reading guide.
- Dyslexia: the OpenDyslexic font, letter spacing, more line height and left-aligned text.
- Keyboard and motor: a visible focus outline, a big cursor and highlighted links.
Read aloud
Buttons for Read page, Read selected text, Pause, Stop and Reading speed (1×, 1.25×, 1.5× or 0.75×). It reads the page without the toolbar, hidden parts and scripts.
It uses only the voices the visitor's browser reports as installed on the device, in the language of the page. Voices that run on a remote server are never used, so the text of your page is not sent to a speech service. The limit that comes with this: if a device has no local voice for the page's language, the panel says so and does not read. Which voices exist depends on the visitor's browser and operating system, not on the plugin.
Magnifier
A text magnifier: a box that shows the text under the pointer enlarged, 1.5× to 4×. With the keyboard it shows the element that has the focus; on touch screens, the one tapped. Long paragraphs show the sentence under the pointer where the browser can tell which one it is. Esc turns it off. It never shows form fields, passwords included, or hidden parts of the page.
It enlarges text only, not pictures or video: for those, the zoom of the browser or of the operating system works better. We chose a text lens over a magnified copy of the whole page because copying the page duplicates forms and IDs, reloads embedded videos and can break theme scripts.
Accessibility statement page
A button in the settings creates a draft page with the shortcode [qsab_accessibility_statement]. The statement follows the template of the W3C accessibility statement generator and is shown in the language of each page where a translation is available.
- You choose the standard (WCAG 2.2 level AA, WCAG 2.1 level AA or EN 301 549) and the conformance status yourself. No status is pre-selected: until you choose one, the page shows no status, and only administrators see a reminder.
- You write the known limitations, the date of your last assessment and a contact for feedback.
- The statement always says that the toolbar helps some visitors and does not, on its own, make the site conform to WCAG or to the law.
- The plugin does not test your site. The status is your statement, based on your own checks or an audit.
- If you delete the Pro, the page stays: its shortcode is replaced with a static copy of the statement, which you can then edit as normal page content.
Display rules
- Show to: everyone, only logged-in visitors, or only visitors who are not logged in.
- Only on these pages: pick pages, and the toolbar loads only there.
- Content types: show the toolbar on single posts or pages of the types you pick; archives, search and the blog home keep it.
The free plugin's list of pages where the toolbar does not load always applies first.
Multisite, export and import
- Network defaults: with the Pro network-activated, a page under Network Admin → Settings saves values that every site uses until it saves its own.
- Export and import: the settings of both plugins as one JSON file, to copy a setup from one site to another. The statement page itself does not travel with it.
Planned prices
The Pro will be an annual license, sold from this website. These are the prices we plan to launch with; the Pro is not on sale yet.
| License | Sites | Price per year (US dollars) |
|---|---|---|
| Single site | 1 | $39 |
| Three sites | 3 | $79 |
| Unlimited | Unlimited, for agencies too | $149 |

What it needs and what it does not do
- It needs the free Quicksloth Accessibility Toolbar installed and active, WordPress 6.0 and PHP 7.4 or later.
- Its settings live under Settings → Accessibility Toolbar Pro, next to the free plugin's page.
- It does not scan or fix your site's code, add alt text, or fix forms and headings. Read what a widget can and cannot do before you rely on one.
- If a visitor hides the toolbar for the visit, the Pro sections are hidden too.
Your data
Profiles, read aloud and the magnifier run in the visitor's browser: no account, no external requests, no cookies, no tracking. Visitor choices stay in that browser's localStorage, as with the free plugin. When the Pro goes on sale, license checks and updates will go through Freemius, the company that will handle sales and licenses, and will contact Freemius servers from your WordPress dashboard only, never from your visitors' browsers. The plugin's readme and our privacy policy will list exactly what is sent before the first sale.
